STRIKING oil workers seem to have struck at the heart of the public
transport in T&T ... and just what might lie ahead for thousands
of hapless commuters, who depend on the maxi-taxi system daily,
is just about anybody’s guess.
While the gas lines have dwindled considerably, the lines for diesel
fuel have grown correspondingly.
There was a frightening reminder of this last Friday morning outside
a Barataria gas station, where long lines of red band maxi-taxis
and other taxis patiently waited their turn to fill up with diesel.
Desperate drivers waited for hours to get their vital supplies.
