Cricket action in India

IN their first meeting in a one-off final of an ODI competition, since the final of the 1975 International Cricket Competitions (ICC) Prudential World Cup in England, West Indies, again, flattered to deceive and were crushed by world champs Australia in the DLF Cup in Malaysia last month.

Next stop for Brian Lara -- scorer of some 21,236 International runs (Tests/One-Dayers combined) and his West Indies team, is in India, for the ICC Champions Trophy defence this month.

West Indies won the ICC Champions Trophy when last it was held in England in 2004.
