‘Dreamz’ come true
… as local TV stakes a claim in India

THE newest national TV station, WIN TV, last week opened an office in Mumbai, India, with a host of Bollywood music and movie stars in attendance.

WIN TV India is led by top movie producer/director Tarun Chopra, who’s also responsible for such major Bollywood events like the Starz Movie Awards, the Filmfare Awards and the Bollywood Awards.

The India office will represent the Caribbean’s film and music industry and will help secure regional talent for concerts, game shows, films and TV productions.

The most anticipated event being planned and pre-produced for Trinidad by WIN TV India is the Bollywood Dreamz Competition, which puts a new spin on com-petitive singing, modelling and dancing.

WIN’s India director, Tarun Chopra explains that the winners of the locally-staged contest will be able to immediately establish an international career.

“Trinidadians have a lot of talent and we have made provisions with Sony Music and some major film producers here to support Bollywood Dreamz winners,” he said.

“Trinidad is an amazing place with amazing talent.”

WIN TV Group Chairman and cultural ambassador Mohan Jaikaran was very pleased to hear of all the developments made thus far in India. And the company’s President Neil Prashad said the market in Trinidad will now have an opportunity to celebrate an enduring link (with India) through the various productions.
