THE crowd, although far smaller than the last
homecoming for the Soca Warriors that qualified in Bahrain
for the World Cup finals, was just as enthusiastic.
The two-hours flight delay had given all artistes ample time
to entertain those present and party Trini-style.
Celebrants came in all various shades of red, wearing or bearing
headpieces or sporting amusing remarks on T-shirts or posters,
poking fun at other countries or stars with whom they were
displeased.
Welcome remarks and praises were given to the Warriors in
the VIP Lounge of the Piarco International Airport and were
shared later in the Atrium with the exuberant crowd, only
that two absentees went unnoticed, namely Jack Warner and
Christopher Birchall.
