THE troops of the 32 nations in the 2006 World Cup
Finals have arrived. The colours of the support armies are as vibrant
as their people; the Brazilians, for instance, are dancing while
the Germans just look on, knowing that this is the team they have
to deal with to repeat their 1974 feat.
The colours are gathering in all cities to discuss their misfortunes
or blessings.
The English are singing about the good fortune of Wayne Rooney’s
recovery from injury while Trinidad is concerned about replacing
Marvin Andrews after a last-minute injury.
