THE aroma of curry filled the air at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant, Independence Square, Port of Spain, Wednesday night.

The restaurant was virtually transformed into an East Indian shrine with colourful Middle-Eastern background and haunting melodies from the East.

The Colonel’s Curry Crunch is what was in the air, a new and exciting curry favoured chicken that combines the mystery of the Orient and the pungent, tantalising taste of curry, which Trinis have all grown to know and love.

It was the launch of KFC’s new product, The Colonel’s Curry Crunch, which is now on the market.

Marketing Manager of Prestige Holdings’ Limited, Kurtis Rudd, explained to TnT Mirror that KFC has always been in the forefront of innovation in the food industry in Trinidad and Tobago.

The launch of this product, he said, was in keeping with their commitment to continually provide customers with exciting new flavours.

Rudd stated that over the past months, they have been conducting a series of pre-testing exercises among consumer groups and have received a highly favourable result of 93 per cent acceptance for the new product.

The affable Marketing Manager printed out: “The Colonel’s Curry Crunch” will not be sold differently from KFC’s other types of chicken.

It will be sold in combos and various types of dinner specials.

Rudd further stated: “We are using Eastern spices from countries such as Thailand, India, etc.

“People will definitely love this new and exciting flavour that KFC has to offer”.
