PRISONS Officer Tracy “Breeze” Alleyne was shot and robbed while playing with a toddler in the front seat of his car on Thursday night, outside the Green Eyes Bar on the Southern Main Road, Spring Village, Valsayn.

According to eyewitnesses, a white Nissan Sunny (registration No. PAW 2288) passed several times outside the bar while Alleyne and his wife were sitting in the vehicle with the toddler.

The car suddenly pulled up around 7.45 p.m. and two men jumped out of the vehicle.

“One man entered Alleyne’s car through the passenger side front door, crossing over the man’s wife and shot him in the shoulder while he was holding the child,” the source said.

“The bandit then snatched off a large gold chain from around his neck and a huge gold ring from his finger and they sped off in the Sunny.”

Sources said the prisons officer, who only returned to work recently after a lengthy suspension, led a colourful lifestyle and was notorious for wearing gaudy items of jewelry.

Police suspect that the bandits knew the prisons officer and are continuing a search for the bandits.
