“The
manner in which they stormed into people’s homes was completely
uncalled for,” the resident blasted.
“We knew the officers were in the area since this morning
so we tried to go about our daily routines as usual.”
However, daily life in the area, also known as “Hell Yard”,
was put on a temporary hold, as officers raided the area.
“The officers stormed into my daughter’s home and began
searching without showing any warrant,” one angry grandmother
slammed.
“They just ran into the house and started searching through
all the rooms.
“During the search, one of the officers carelessly raised
up the mattress where my two-month-old grand-daughter was asleep
and was searching below the bed.
“My grandchild could have fallen off the bed with the intense
force he used to raise up the mattress and they would not have cared
if anything had happened to her.”
When TnT Mirror visited the scene around 11.30 a.m., the area was
packed with angry residents and schoolchildren assembled on the
road.
The adults claimed that officers ordered them to “stay at
home and don’t go to work or send your children to school
today; police exercise going on here”!
“I see them run a woman back home who was taking her two young
children to school this morning,” blurted out one resident.
“We know the police doing their jobs, but they should co-operate
with us, too, because not all of us in this area bad. Is just a
handful of them in the area who does be doing their stupidness and
giving us in here a bad name.” |
