The
manager said: “When the notice came out in the newspapers,
our customers started asking us if the place was really going to
be broken down.
“However, at this stage I really don’t know what will
be the outcome.
“If we are forced to move then that is what we will have to
do; but we are hoping it doesn’t reach that drastic point.”
Meanwhile, one concerned nearby resident alleged that ever since
the pub was opened some years ago, the once quiet residential area
has been filled with noise pollution and other discrepancies.
The elderly resident related that another pub had opened at the
exact spot a few years earlier, but was closed down as residents
complained about the rude conduct of the pub’s “rowdy
clientele”.
The woman told Mirror: “This is a residential area and when
the first pub was opened, we used to catch hell to sleep at night
because of the ruckus the customers used to be making.
“I remember one time I was awakened by the sound of loud laughter
outside my house around three one morning.
“When I ran out to see what was going on, I saw a young man
pissing in my front yard and his friends were using profane language
and laughing.
“The group of youngsters seemed drunk, so I quickly returned
to my bed.”
The woman said she was full of joy when the first pub was closed
down, and contended that crobar was beginning to pull the same type
of crowd. |
