POLICE
Commissioner Trevor Paul hints that he may soon be retiring from
the Service.
He will join a number of senior officers on pre-retirement leave
this year.
The exodus of policemen with more than 40 years of service is an
annual cause for concern among the ranks.
The commissioner dropped the hint in an address at a function for
head of the Northern Division, Senior Superintendent Farouk Ghany
who went on pre-retirement leave on Friday, after serving for four
decades.
A number of senior police officers, including the top brass in the
Police Service attended the function at the Larry Gomes Stadium
last week.
