Before
President Chavez, the representatives of the Colombian illicit drug
manufacturers ran their illicit businesses with impunity in Venezuela,
as they still do in the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago,
Jamaica and Guyana.
The message from President Chavez to the political leaders of the
Caribbean is then to put up or shut up.
The most potent strike at the illicit drug traffickers of the Caribbean
is not to purchase radar systems, attack helicopters and fast interceptors
because you can have all of these pieces of machinery but they remain
parked up rotting away because of the complicity and corruption
of State officials.
President Chavez first purged the drug interdiction unit of the
CIPC, as some 60 officers were removed; and then, with the reconstitution
of the drug squad, moved on Ojeda.
In the face of a public brawl with the US over the activities of
the DEA in Venezuela that led to the expulsion of the DEA from Venezuela,
Ojeda was arrested.
The old CIPC and the DEA failed to arrest Ojeda whilst the new CIPC
without the DEA arrested Ojeda.
Officials of the Bolivarian Republic now have a treasure trove of
information on illicit drug trafficking in Trinbago in their possession.
Officials have already stated publicly that if Ojeda is a bona fide
dual citizen of Venezuela and Colombia then requests for his extradition
by Colombia and the US must be made in Venezuelan courts. At minimum,
Ojeda can supply Venezuelan state officials with secrets, which
would dramatically intensify the leverage President Chavez can wield
on the present government and politicians of past governments of
Trinbago.
This is in fact a windfall weapon for President Chavez in light
of the continued tensions with the Bush presidency, the upcoming
December Presidential elections in Venezuela and US moves in conjunction
with its Caribbean allies to ensure the defeat of President Chavez
in 2006.
It is now incumbent upon the EU and the US, given revelations from
Ojeda, to now indict and seek extraditions of the kingfish of the
illicit drug trade of Trinbago.
Failure to do so is then proof of the complicity of the nations
of the North Atlantic with the illicit drug trade.
This is opportunity for the PM of Trinbago to now walk his talk
of assault on the illicit drug trade of Trinbago.
Now is the time to contact the Venezuelan government seeking to
interview Ojeda towards the collection of information leading to
the arrest of the kingfish of the trade in Trinbago!
The revelations of Vernon Paul are of no comparison to the secrets
that Ojeda holds on the illicit trade in Trinbago. Walk your talk
Manning. |
