Debe threatens to stone ‘Massive’ Gosine

By ANNA POLIAH
CHUTNEY artiste Nirmal “Massive” Gosine insists that his plan not to have his roving Chutney tent in Debe this year has nothing to do with threats from villagers.

Massive told TnT Mirror that there were original plans for Debe Junction on February 25, 2006.

He said the tent would instead be performing in Nestor Village, Sangre Grande.

Massive said he would not be in Debe since there is greater demand for the tent in other areas.

“There are no other reasons why the tent will not be in Debe; no one can tell me where to perform,” Massive told Mirror.

Massive further noted that he now wished he was going to Debe.

“People who threaten me would have ended in hospital,” Massive fired.

The soca/Chutney artiste said anyone who threatens him would pay the consequences.

Mirror was told that scores of Debe villagers were planning to stone Massive when the tent visits the district.

One villager said they are living peaceful and happy and did not appreciate the disharmony Massive creates when his roving tent visits the area.

“We could do without Massive,” one villager said.

The roving chutney tent of Massive was in Debe last year.

Mirror understands that some villagers were not happy with the contents that emanated from the tent.

But Massive said it was only propaganda meant to destroy him.

“This is news to me; I am quite surprised,” Massive said.

“This negativity from individuals will only advertise my tent more.”

The roving Chutney tent opens this weekend at Triangle, Rio Claro on Saturday and Aranguez on Sunday.

Massive said he is planning for a “sell-out” at his tent this weekend.
