Drunk at UNC meeting

By CECILY ASSON
THE tongues of the United National Congress (UNC) faithfuls are still wagging after the drunken display put on by a female party official at a recent meeting.

But reports are that that was not the only piece of embarrassment the faithful had to endure recently, as sources disclosed that at another function, a female senator felt the full brunt of her boss’ tongue in the presence of many.

Reports are that he severely knocked her for not supporting his team.

He then threatened to have her removed very soon from the Senate and have one of his key men replace her.

Two opposing factions within the UNC have been at war for some time now causing much disunity.

“I feel real ashamed at what’s playing out these days,” said the source.

“Who ent drunk and falling down, cussing and carrying on …”

The staunch UNC activist recalled to TnT Mirror what happened when the female party member, a feature speaker on the night, reduced her self to shame.

He said from the way she stumbled into her seat when she arrived at the meeting it was clear that she had been drinking.

“She couldn’t control her movement,” he revealed.

According to him, while it created amusement for some, it caused embarrassment for many.

“I have seen her on many occasions before when she has some in, but this is the worst I have ever seen her.

“Saying she was in bad shape is putting it mildly,” he stated.

He further explained when it was time for her to go on stage to speak, a normal walk became a task.

“When she got on the stage, she had to lean on the podium for balance,” he added.

He said she did not read from a prepared speech and as a result just rambled on.

“And she just went on and on,” he further revealed.

“A senior party official (name called) sent two notes for her, ordering that she wind up her speech.

“She didn’t have on her glasses, so she couldn’t read it and so went 15 minutes over her time.”

Mirror was told as the politician walked off the stage, she had to seek support from a mike stand.

“Too embarrassing.”

Sources blamed her recent intake of excessive alcohol on moves to bring back former Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj into the fold.

“We know she is taking it on very much,” Mirror was told.

At the other incident, Mirror was informed that her boss, obviously upset by her outright support for the opposing team, let the senator know just how he felt.

“He couldn’t hide his feelings, he boofed her and treated her with utter disrespect in the presence of other party colleagues.

“We all felt badly for her because everyone knows his tongue is not easy.”

Sources again revealed the verbal attack came all because of the former AG.

“She’s earmarked to be kicked out to make room for him.

“It is a sad day for the party and let me tell you things are just getting worse inside UNC.

“Winston Dookeran has promised us that he will stay and fight but he has to show us that he could fight,” he ended.
