Sex out of control in Palmiste Park

By CECILY ASSON
HOW has the times changed!

The old sign placed in the scenic Palmiste Park, Palmiste, south Trinidad, reads: “No Dogs, No Roller Skating, No Cycling Allowed On Track”.

The park has a jogging track.

However, with the increased sexual activity within recent times by couples parked in their cars, management has been forced to erect a new sign following numerous complaints from the many people who use the park legitimately.

It now reads: “Parking and Driving Are Prohibited On The Park.”

Sources told TnT Mirror although in the past couples have frequented the area, the situation has gotten worse these days.

“Things are out of control here in the park,” said one woman who jogs daily in the area.

“What’s happening in here is disgusting couples have taken over and it makes people like me uncomfortable when we are taking our daily walks.”

She said joggers often have to skip over used condoms.

“At least they’re practicing safe sex, but don’t throw your condoms out the car like that.”

When Mirror visited the park, a maintenance crew was busy at work cleaning up and they too complained that they often have to run couples from the park.

“We always calling police and running people from here,” explained one worker.

“Around 11 o’clock the other morning, we call police for a schoolboy and girl who were having sex on the ground.”

She explained that the police would run them out of the park.

“But just as they leave, the couples come back again.”

The new sign is planted near the entrance to the park that has since been blocked off.

But that has created very little problems for the couples that need to find a place to make out.

The workers pointed out to Mirror the new entrance drivers have since created which takes them to various romantic spots in the park.
