Police found Ramkissoon’s corpse lying face down in a small
drain near his home.
Police have detained the relative for questioning.
During the commotion at Ramkissoon’s home, relatives reportedly
called the Freeport, Couva and Chaguanas Police Stations for assistance.
“They called the police from 9.30 pm but they said they did
not have any transport to respond.
“The police, however, came after Ramkissoon was murdered,”
Anoop told TnT Mirror.
Relatives said: “Ramkissoon obviously enjoyed doing what he
loved before he died.
“He beat Mary mercilessly until she fainted.
“He kicked her in the abdomen, cuffed her in the head and
choked her when she fainted and could not get up.
“Mary was stoned with a flower pot and louvres on the same
day.”
Anoop said Mary did not have a peaceful day in her life since she
married Ramkissoon 23 years ago.
“He beat her from day one.
“I did not feel good about it but there was nothing I could
have done.
“She left the relationship on countless occasions and came
to my home but Ramkissoon use to come and curse us all.
“He use to beg her and promise to change and she use to forgive
him,” Anoop related.
During Mary’s years of abuse, Anoop told Mirror that Mary
was thrown in rivers on several occasions.
Anoop said Ramkissoon even pelt his son, Kevin in a drain when he
was four months old.
Kevin, now 15, reportedly fled the home recently and took to the
streets.
“The child was afraid to return home,” Anoop related.
Anoop said Ramkissoon and Mary lived in Guayaguayare, Manahambre,
Princes Town and Gasparillo before and they had the same problems.
Anoop said: “In Guayaguayare, Ramkissoon threw Mary in a river.
“They moved to Gasparillo and he threw a gas tank on her stomach.
“In Manahambre he threw her through a window.
“He continued to bodily throw Mary out of the house where
they presently live.”
Ramkissoon was reportedly jailed for three months for breaking Mary’s
left leg.
Relatives said she was placed in a safe house in Flanagin Town off
Chaguanas but Ramkissoon soon located her.
“Mary stayed in the relationship because she was afraid for
her life.
“Her husband threatened to buy a gun and shoot her if she
left him,” Anoop told Mirror.
