The “dropping off” arrangement went smoothly.
However, taking patrons back to the carpark, which is several kilometres
from the venue, turned out to be a disaster.
Many patrons were forced to wait for over an hour and when the maxis
did turn up, people rushed and climbed onto one another to get in.
Some who could not push or refused to wait for another hour decided
to walk the long distance to get to their cars.
Patrons could not even get a taxi because they were not allowed
into the area.
Frustration stepped in and they began to bicker.
“The jazz was good but waiting for this shuttle was ridiculous,”
said a female patron.
The situation got so out-of-hand that whenever patrons spotted a
maxi they ran to it in a manner that endangered their lives.
A popular model even took off her high heel shoes, to gain more
running speed towards a maxi.
