DESIGNER
Deepika Gehani’s collection, which told the story of a woman
in love, had a surprise ending.
At the end of the show, the show’s host announced the entry
of Gehani, along with her friend, Brian Lara.
The former West Indies cricket captain walked the ramp, along with
the designer for a few seconds, and then slipped into the audience
to join his friends.
The best batsman in the world looked decidedly shy among all the
flashlights.
But in those few seconds Lara got Delhi swooning to his charm.
After the show, Lara said he was very impressed with India’s
designers.
When we quizzed him about whether Gehani and he were friends, Lara
said: “No, but I met her and liked her clothes.”
