Age, race, class didn’t
matter.

LIKE the rest of TnT, the football fever gripped San Fernando and its environs!

Led by city Mayor Ian Atherly and his councillors, Burgesses broke out in wild scenes on “D Coffee” which also took on a Carnival-like atmosphere with iron, pan, deejays and thousands of bodies jamming in the street.

Madness prevailed as the masses converged on the streets the moment the gripping football match was won; and just grew thicker following the announcement that the following day (Thursday) was declared a public holiday.

Celebrations went into the wee hours of the morning.

RISHI RAGOONATH captured the memorable moments to celebrate Trinidad and Tobago’s historic victory over Bahrain in the last Wednesday’s World Cup Qualifier, which will see them off to Germany 2006.
