He made 226 against Australia in the third Test to move to 11,204
runs, ahead of Australia’s Allan Border 11,174.
According to The Observer, when asked about his own wedding date,
the 36-year-old Lara reportedly gave a boyish grin and said: “Maybe
soon, who knows.”
Brown got married to his long-time girlfriend, Tricia Warner.
The quiet ceremony was attended by several former Barbados and
West Indies players.
“This is the best day in my life, better than my playing
days,” Browne, 35, the former Barbados captain and West
Indies wicketkeeper said.
His bride gushed: “I am on cloud 99; he is the man of my
dreams.”
Browne suddenly quit cricket last October, saying he wanted to
concentrate on his personal life and job commitments.
His finest moment came in September 2004, when he and Ian Bradshaw
led West Indies in a revival, as the team beat England by two
wickets to win the International Cricket Council’s Champions
Trophy.
Lara is the father of a girl, Sydney, who he named after the ground
on which he scored a masterful 277 against Australia.
Her mother is Trinidadian Liselle Rovedas.
However, Lara has been seen in close company with many other female
friends over the past years.
He is the owner of a mansion on Lady Chancellor Hill, overlooking
Port of Spain.
The prime piece of real estate was donated to Lara as a gift from
the government and people of TnT.
