Roaches live in police fridge

By Suzette Edwards-Lewis

AFTER of years of working in a rundown police station, Toco Policemen are finally getting a refurbished building.

Policemen have complained for years that they were working in a rat and roach-infested old wooden building.

TnT Mirror was told that the building was also laden with woodlice.

“The building almost collapsed on us,” said one of the policemen.

“To leave home to come to work in such a place gave police no motivation to work,” chimed in another policeman.

“Even the old fridge had roaches living in it, so we could not leave anything to eat in it,” added the police officer.

Mirror was also told that the police did not have proper toilet facilities, or a proper flow of pipeborne water.

The policemen are now housed temporarily at a building on Galera Road, Toco.
