Petrotrin home for Christmas

IN its thrust to eradicate poverty in fence line communities, Petrotrin has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago to build several low-income homes over a five-year period.

The company recently made its first donation of $50,000 to begin the construction of a two-bedroom home before Christmas.

Formed in 1997, Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International.

Its core service is the provision of affordable housing for low-income earners.

To date, the organisation has built 102 homes throughout TnT.

Habitat for Humanity’s National Co-ordinator Dianne Wells thanked Petrotrin for its donation.

“This is the type of assistance that we need from corporate Trinidad and Tobago so that we could together eradicate poverty housing,” Wells said.

“We intend to use this funding to finance house construction for persons living in Petrotrin’s fence line communities.”
