FORMER Miss Trinidad and Tobago Nicole Dyer has dismissed the treatment meted out to her at a recent beauty queen show as “no biggie”.

Organisers of the recent Miss Butler Queen Pageant to which Dyer was invited as a judge some four weeks in advance, snubbed her on arrival.

Obviously embarrassed by the turn of events, Dyer beat a hasty retreat from the Petrotrin Grounds, Fyzabad and headed back to her home in West Trinidad.

She received no apology from the committee.

Sunday PUNCH was told that the evening got off to a bad start.

“The drama began when she arrived at the gate and had to stand there for some time waiting as those manning the gate tried to verify if she go in free,” the source related.

“It was someone who recognised her and he spoke to them before she got the go-ahead to go in.”

According to reports, it was only more embarrassment on the inside as she was to discover she had nowhere to sit and her name was not even among those on the judging panel.

“Protocol was really bad,” the source added, “how could you invite somebody to judge and don’t even provide for them.”

Dyer admitted to the Love Paper that there wasn’t even a chair for her to sit on and neither was her name down as a judge for the evening’s proceedings.

“But it’s just one of those things,” she laughed.

She related that a committee member had called her prior to the show and she consented to be a judge.

“I’ll put it down to communications.”

Shurva George beat her seven rivals for the title of Miss Butler 2006.

She also won seven other

special prizes.
