“SAN FERNANDO will see one of its biggest J’Ouvert celebrations of all times for Carnival 2K6!”

So says Alvin Maynard, bandleader of Mas Lovers & Dem, who has copped South’s J’Ouvert Band of the Year tile for the past four years.

“This year, my production will be entitled ‘David Rudder Say’ and the theme is based on one of Rudder’s songs, Ganges Meets The Nile,” Maynard continued.

“And we are expecting a much bigger band -- approximately 500 strong -- on J’Ouvert morning on the streets of San Fernando,” the bandleader boasted.

“Registration, which costs $120 All-Inclusive, has already begun and continues at the mas camp at Dallas Avenue, Cocoyea Village, San Fernando and there will be drawings and samples of the costumes on display at the launch,” the mas designer for the past 13 years added.
