Ash Wednesday ‘Cool Down’

THE Soca Ambassadors group is hoping to earn money to build low-income homes for upcoming and less popular local entertainers in TnT.

Soca entertainer Jo Jo said that the Ambassadors comprise of other soca artistes.

He revealed that Impulse and Patch were also members of the organisation.

The Soca Ambassadors is also the promoter of the annual Ash Wednesday Cool Down fete held at Manzanilla Beach.

This yearly event usually attracts a massive crowd of party animals, all coming to hear post-Carnival hits.

Jo Jo told Sunday PUNCH that this year the event would be a lot different than the previous years.

For the first time, since the show began 10 years ago, the area where it is being held would be blocked off.

He said that the area would be barricaded for security reasons.

“To further ensure that everyone inside the party is safe, patrons with coolers would not be allowed to enter the compound with any glass bottles.

“There will be two entrances and one massive exit onto the beach.

“A small fee would also be charged for the first time ever since the show began some years ago.

“The fee would go towards security,” he contended.

JMC 3Veni, Bunji Garlin and Denise Belfon are among some of the acts carded to perform.
