Sting sizzles hot
- in Tobago

By CECILY ASSON, who covered the Plymouth Jazz Festival

STING ... on stage

STEVIE WONDER

Blind singer STEVIE WONDER
couldn’t keep still during his
friend’s performance.

STING’s breathtaking performance at last weekend’s Plymouth Jazz Festival in Tobago, sent thousands of wild and screaming fans into such heights of ecstasy, that the singer couldn’t help but remark that the beautiful island oozed of sex.

“Everybody on the island look as if they are having sex,” he told adoring fans at the Plymouth Recreational Ground.

He pointed to the crowd and jokingly added: “Look there’s a couple having sex over there.”

The British performer performing here for the first time on the island of Tobago couldn’t hold back on his observations ... the beauty of our women.

He, however, regretted the fact that he was already married.

The crowds loved it.

Sting had local fans eating out of his hands as he belted out hit after hit after hit ... each time taking his act to a different level.

Popular classics like Fields of Gold, Desert Rose, and Every Breath You Take, which saw close friend and blind singer Stevie Wonder joining him on stage for a duet.

Stevie, who played the harmonica and sang, had been dancing and singing to Sting’s music earlier on in the media en-closure where he was taking in the performance of the man.

With his presence on stage, the performance got even better.

Sting was backed up by his four-man band.

Prior to him coming on to perform, the entire stage was cleared.

With a plain black backdrop, the “roadies” transformed the area in no time; even carpet was laid on the ground to maintain that perfect sound.

Sting has promised to be back.
