Kamara Rostant Always Zooms And Locks It Down!

Well, that’s the man, a young and upcoming artiste named Kamara Rostant.

The 23-year-old filing clerk at Scotia bank carefully thought out himself and came up with a strange-sounding sobriquet when he needed to kick start his entertainment career.

A quite confident Krazalid believes he’s right on target with his music and thinks it is only a matter of time before his name becomes a household one.

His genre of music is rap/rapso.

Armed with his two latest singles, Abusing Your Love featuring Naquita and 80 Proof, Rostant told Sunday PUNCH he is living his dream.

He loves performing.

“As a child I loved writing and I was encouraged to do so by my parents,” he revealed.

By the age of 12, he was already humming his own music.

He was encouraged to play the piano by his late mom, Margaret Rostant who herself played the piano.

Although he no longer plays the piano, as he would like to these days, he said it has helped tremendously in developing his musical skills.

Two years ago he had the opportunity to perform with south tent Kaiso Showkase.

He later went on to do the open mic sessions, south speak, Songshine and will be touring with Keskidee Karavan for the Easter.

His music while not on the play list of leading radio stations, he is on rotation on the other frequencies like 92.1 FM Sidewalk Radio, WACK 90.1 FM and 104.7 FM.

“I wish the other stations could be more generous towards artistes like me.

“Be a little more patriotic,” he begged.

Krazalid is also part of a musical duo “Blood Brothaz”.

His blood brother Dike Rostant, now at Mona Campus UWI studying Mass Communications is the other half.

Together they’ve release a single, Black Seed, which calls on youth to put down their guns.
