One special track Oh Laventille which laments the current state of the
community where Shortman was born and bred comes with a video.
The 55-year-old artiste, schoolteacher now turned rapso artiste who
one year ago left her native Sweden and followed her husband to TnT
told Sunday PUNCH rapso means much to her.
“It’s inspiring music, it is music from the soul, and I’m
so excited.”
Last year the Valsayn couple recorded their first album, which they
admitted, didn’t quite have the success they had hoped for.
“I think we needed to get back to the rhythm of the land, we needed
the energy, the vibe, and that’s why this one year spent back
home has helped our creativity,” chipped in hubby Shortman.
“It made me better understand the music and the culture of the
people.
“I’ve succeeded in doing just what I always wanted to do,”
further explained wife Anna.
The Romanys managed to include on the new album collaborations with
Ella Andall, Len “Boogsie” Sharpe, and Roy Cape among other
big names in the entertainment business.
“It was a rejuvenating experience,” she smiled.
Anna did the artwork on the jacket cover.
