Xtreme
- wants to make it big in socaland

THERE is a new band in town that wants to make it big in socaland.

Members of the band called Xtreme are guitarist Gordon Alexander, lead singers Kern Alfred and Kernis Alfred, brassmen Courtney Brown and Garth Alexander, lead guitarist Gordon Alexander, base guitarist Deron Tid, drummer Glenton Eno and keyboard player Kellon Douglas.

Director of Xtreme, Courtney Brown, told D Biz their music will focus in the soca and chutney/soca area.

band was marketing themselves externally too and not just focusing on the upcoming Carnival events.

“And we have been getting a very big response indeed,” he said.

And even though the group has been around for approximately seven years, Brown said that this time they want to be more recognised.

“It would be our first time heading in the mainstream.

“There are people familiar with the band and I just want to let them know we are alive and kicking.

“It is a promising band and our goal is to become recognised as tops in the soca arena.”

He attested to the fact that the band has had many setbacks, including one with a manager while they were touring in St. Lucia, but he said all this is in the past now and there is “nothing that will stop us now. We are moving forward”.

Xtreme will soon release their album incorporating both Chutney and soca songs.

“We’re looking forward to C2K6 with great anticipation,” said Brown.
