FOR Carnival 2006, three major competitions will be added to the Annual Coca Cola Youth Festival.

This new prospective is to further create more opportunities for young people in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region.

These competitions are catered to youths 22 years and younger, of any experience and residing in the Caribbean.

The annual Youth Festival is the biggest of its kind in the region. It features the best youth talent in the Caribbean performing for their peers.

Artistes like Bunji Garlin, Maximus Dan, Fayann Lyons, Destra, 3 Suns and Doug E. Slaughter all started their young and distinguished careers at the Youth Fest in 2000.

The Carnival 2006 edition is scheduled for Saturday February 4, at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.

The competitions added are YouthFest Soca Champions for soca, rapso, calypso performers. A demo, five minutes long, must be submitted on CDs by January 15, for the DJs’ Sound System.

YouthFest Soca Dance Championship for dance groups with five members or more finalists will be selected from one national audition, which will be held on Sunday January, 15, at Mucurapo Senior Comprehensive, Mucurapo at 10 a.m.

Demo must be submitted to Randy Glasgow Productions Ltd.
