A WHEELCHAIR-BOUND mother broke down and cried as she pleaded for
her “runaway” daughter to return home and tell her what
went wrong.
Erica Joseph was in the company of her husband, former Light Heavyweight
Champion of Trinidad and Tobago, Wendell Joseph when she made the
emotional plea at TnT Mirror’s Barataria office.
Erica’s daughter, Eileen Joseph, 19, left the family on July
3 after leaving for classes at The College of Accounting and Secretarial
Skills, San Fernando.

She never returned home. Both Erica and Wendell insist that they
are not responsible for Eileen’s predicament
Wendell told Mirror he found Eileen liming in the Arcade in San
Fernando after he paid the fees for her to attend summer classes.
He related: “It was around 1.45 p.m. when I went to the
school.
“I discovered that school had dismissed and found it strange.“I
am in the habit of dropping off and picking up Eileen each day.
“She was in the habit of calling her mother or me to tell
us whenever school dismissed early.” Wendell said he saw
Eileen in the company of a male and questioned her.
“I decided to take her back to the school to get a refund
of the money I had paid because I felt she did not want to go
to school.
“At the school she just left and walked away,” Wendell
related. Eileen has since appealed to her parents to leave her
alone. She has also collected her stuff from her parents’
home.
But Erica said her heart is hurting over her “mama”.“I
love her,” Erica cried. The grieving mother said Eileen
was everything to her.
She said her heart hurts over hurtful remarks Eileen made to her.“She
told me I am a cripple and a disgrace to her.“I never expected
that from my own daughter; I did not ask to be in a wheelchair,”
Erica said.
The mother of one said she and Eileen previously had a good relationship.
She displayed marks on her back that she alleged was a result
of licks from a close female relative.
“This is what I have been living with recently,” she
alleged.
