PATRICK MANNING’s initial reaction to
the snide remark …
… he then looked to the one next to him to
see if they were elated …
IT was a typical sight, the usually straight face Prime Minister
Manning having hearty, uncontrollable laughter so much so that his
eyes watered while becoming squinted, his shoulders shrugged constantly
and he ended up all red-faced.
Master of Ceremony (MC) John Commissiong, a no-nonsense
person, was the reason for the PM’s hilarity.
A technical glitch occurred at the podium while the MC
spoke, causing Commissiong to fiddle with the microphones
wires.
A technician nearby on another cordless microphone offered
only, “The wires you were handling, fix it.”
…
then it sank
in further …
To which MC Commissiong
instantly shot back, “You come and fix it yuh self!”
which caused peals of laughter from all present on the stage area,
at the 50th anniversary celebration in Tacarigua.
…
and Mrs. MANNING seemed delighted at
her husband’s disposition.

acknowledges the fact that he had a
moment of stand-up comedy.
