A 56-YEAR-OLD married leader of a Christian church in Barataria is going to marry a 25-year-old female member of his congregation despite his wife’s objection to the entire situation.

The rabbi declared his undying love to the younger woman and the church congregation a few months ago.

Soon after his declaration the pastor began preaching what critics call his “bigamous gospel” to followers, saying that it was right in the eyes of God.

From all indications, unsuspecting church goers are being lulled into believing these false preachings by their rabbi and intend to follow the adulterous practice.

A source told TnT Mirror that the church has been in existence for over 10 years and the man has been the rabbi ever since.

“Is a cult they’re running there,” fumed the informant.

The church leader’s wife is said to be aware of the unlawful plot to marry another woman and she does support his bold decision.

The source said that she has confronted him about it but he has not changed his mind and is quickly proceeding with the illegal wedding plans.

He intends only to undertake the ceremonial exchange of vows in church.

Once the two are “joined together as one in the sight of God” he will beat the legal system by simply not registering the marriage in the Red House.

“His wife knows that his actions are wrong both in the eyes of God and the law but she can’t stop him.

“He even told her that after he marries the young woman he would like her to move into their home.”

The source pointed out that the pastor is manipulating the young woman into marrying him.

He said that the young woman and her family have been members of the church ever since it started 10 years ago.

The girl’s family was under financial distress at the time and the pastor began handling their expenses, as they were members of the church.

As the young girl developed into a mature woman, the pastor’s interest in her came to the fore.

She is being manipulated because of how he took care of the family when she was younger so she developed a fatherly love for him.

“Now the man is taking advantage of her by manipulating her feelings into marrying him.”

The informant further pointed out that the pastor has intensions of presenting his illegal fiancé fraudulent documents stating the marriage would be legal.

“I am calling on all Christians to rise up against these so-called Christian churches that preach things that are not of God.

“The Yahweh church organisation said that he is not aware of what he is preaching in Barataria.

“The pastor’s wife and I want to stop this illegal marriage because after they are married and the youngster realises she made the wrong decision, it would hurt her terribly.”

The informant revealed that in the Old Testament before Christ, men were allowed to have more than one wife.

However, after Christ, certain Christian laws were implemented in order to uphold a particular order in the society.

The informant pointed out two verses in the Bible, which condemn the rabbi’s actions.

“First Timothy Chapter 3, Verse 2 says: A bishop then must be blameless the husband of one wife ... let the deacons be the husbands of one wife.

The informant contended: “Jesus said ‘beware of false prophets and foolish Galatians who have bewitched you that you should not obey the truth’.

“I am not saying this to spread slander on the church but to warn that many marriages can be broken up if these ungodly teachings spread in the nation.”
