He said of the
site: “There is no other website on the net showcasing a team
and its country at the same time.
“The site is designed to provide background information about
the team … and to provide information about TnT.”
The website uniform resource locator (URL) is www.socawarriorstt.com.
Chin Lee, however, admitted that the site still needed more work
saying that it would grow and expand as the weeks go by.
An electronic logo has also been added to the package.
The logo will be carried by both local and regional co-op sponsors
and will be seen beneath their advertisements in the electronic
media.
“This logo will also be run as an ad by itself locally, regionally
and internationally to advertise the website and drive people to
it,” he said.
He also revealed that three mayors from the cities of Germany-Dortmund,
Nuremburg and Kaiserslautern would be visiting the country for Carnival
and would together plan a marketing strategy in those cities for
June 2007.
The Tourism Ministry, he said, would be unleashing aggressive public
relations programmes around “the team’s friendly games”
scheduled for February 28 in the United Kingdom.
And the Tourism Development Company will also be stepping up its
marketing programmes by redeveloping their website www.visittnt.com.
Andre Laveau Communications Manager at the Ministry of Sport and
Youth Affairs who spoke on behalf of the absent Roger Boynes said
that he managed to have gotten a sneak peak of the Soca Warriors
website and was astounded by the photographs he saw in the photo
gallery.
He quoted St. Lucian poet and Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott saying
that: “Trinidad and Tobago is a big idea in a small country.”
