THE 23-year-old former
University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine student who
was found dead on a bench at the Engineering Faculty last Wednesday
is said to have fatally injected himself with over $10,000 worth
of liquid cocaine.
The body of Pradeep Jadoo, of Aranguez Main Road, Aranguez, who
once studied at the Faculty of Science and Agriculture, was found
lying face up with froth coming through his mouth and nostrils.
A syringe lay close by.
Following the removal of the corpse to the Forensic Sciences Centre,
an autopsy later revealed that Jadoo died as a result of ingestion
of a toxic substance.
Investigators ruled the death as suicide.
TnT Mirror was told that a depressed Jadoo had been at UWI since
2001 and had been constantly failing his final year exams.
According to informed sources, he recently received a letter from
UWI saying he would not be accepted for the new semester.
He was said to have sunk into further depression because of the
letter.
Sources also disclosed to Mirror that Jadoo had to deal with endless
personal problems.
“He used to stay away for days from home.
“He lacked love and that was the root of the problem,”
a source close to the investigation revealed.
“No one ever cared where he was at any time.
“Yes, he took a good sum of his relatives’ money to
buy so much cocaine just to embarrass them.”
