THE
street parade for the 168th Anniversary of Emancipation came off
approximately 9.30 p.m. without hindrance, with thousands dressed
in African wear while being escorted with drums and the steelpan.
After a week of mid-morning showers, the gods provided pristine
blue skies.
The parade ended at the Hasely Crawford Stadium where the Emancipation
Support Committee (ESC) hosted all-day activities with different
African groups. All along the way tourists were taking photos and
capturing special moments.
In an atmosphere of freedom and liberation, the activities were
closely watched by the police.
