Jolly good time at Carols by Candlelight

ENTERTAINED by the Fire Services Band, the 23rd annual Carols by Candlelight were held on the lawn, to the east side of the band stand area in front the President’s House.

A tradition started in Australia, the event was first held in Trinidad in 1982, and celebrated in December with one year’s celebration missed due to elections.

His Excellency President Maxwell Richards and family were honoured guests enjoying the night’s entertainment by the Viva Nueva and Carib Santa Rosa Parang groups.

Always a pleasure to hear the angelic voice of WENDY SHEPPARD.

The mellow, golden voice of Kelvin Hutcheon warmed the crowd and brought that Christmas feeling of peace, goodwill and cheer to all in attendance.

And where will the merriment be if not for jolly good Santa?

Of course he was mobbed by the excited children anxious for toys, sweets and other goodies.

The intermittent rains, however, did not dampen the spirits of the hundreds who lapped up the songs and sights of Xmas, and as evident by these TnT Mirror photos, they were by all too happy, perhaps looking forward to next year’s event.
