President praises Norton exhibition

FRESH on the win of the Trinidad and Tobago National Football Team, the President of the Republic, His Excellency George Maxwell Richards and Dr. Jean Ramjohn-Richards were present at the CLICO Gallery to view Doctor of Arts, UTT Honouree Graduate, Noel Norton’s photographic journey of 50 years.

Aptly entitled “This is my home, my native land,” the exhibition featured Norton’s numerous photographs from his expansive career ranging from simple portraits to beautifully captured aspects of the Trinbago terrain and way of life.

The dignitaries were welcomed by company CEO, Claudius Dacon and CMO, Ian Garcia.

President Richards and her Excellency, who were both in high praise of Norton’s work, were particularly impressed with a portrait of the president and a cricket match photograph which featured a panoramic view of the Oval, highlighting a match between Australia and the West Indies.

The honoured guests described the picture as being so vivid they could see the scoreboard.

CLICO is proud to be a part of this auspicious occasion and continues its dedication to the Arts.

CLICO’s 2006 calendar will be launched in the coming weeks and the company invites the public to view the 2006 calendar pieces scheduled to run from December 5 to 30 at the Gallery, Art in the Heart of the City.

Admission is free and all are invited.
