With World Cup qualification secured at last and national team officials
apparently opening up the door to all, bpTT’s On-Shore Asset
Manager, Andre Celestine must have reflected on Mayaro’s exciting
past when he announced the company’s commitment to helping
Mayaro develop.
Celestine, a former QRC Intercol star, was speaking at the prize
distribution ceremony of the bpTT Mayaro Football League’s
2005 tournament at the Mayaro Resource Centre last Friday.
“I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of football
I saw during some of the matches. Mayaro football is on the right
path to reclaiming its past status in the country,” he said.
“I want to give you the assurance that bpTT will continue
to support the league as the company strives for the proper balance
in developing sports, culture and academics in the community,”
Celestine told officials, players and supporters.

with the Mayaro community in the field of sports, adding that inauguration

of achievement.
