AMAZING scenes were witnessed in the borough of Chaguanas last week when freelance cameraman Dhanraj Sirjoo took possession of a vehicle which had been loaned to radio talk show host Hansley Ajodha.
Now Media Watch does not know if Sirjoo, the former TV6 cameraman, has gone into the car rental business, but as a known owner of a licensed firearm, he is not a man to be trifled with. The residents of Chaguanas who witnessed the scene outside U-Radio 97.5 (formerly Radio Shakti) on the Montrose Main Road in Chaguanas are questioning how talk show host Adjodha came to have his vehicle repossessed by Sirjoo so publicly.
The cameraman is known for his loud voice and brash manner and fortunately for Adjodha the seizure of the vehicle was not done by Sirjoo himself but by two policemen acting as bailiffs on his behalf.
Media Watch has since learnt that the vehicle was in fact leased to the radio station by Sirjoo and had been provided to Ajodha for his use. A dispute arose over payments and insurance for the vehicle and Sirjoo decided to repossess. The whole issue became very public with some embarrassment on all sides.
Ever a man to record the moment, Media Watch understands that Sirjoo has documented important aspects of the transaction on hidden camera.
