TALK among trainers is how a sports writer, who is a trainer, got a few slaps for allegedly issuing a bounced cheque recently.
This column was told that a man came to the racetrack with a walking stick, inquiring about a trainer early in the morning.
He was told that the trainer was in the Grand Stand. The man went up to the trainer and let loose a few slaps, which caused him to fall off a chair.
Some clockers who were nearby ran for safety.
The “henchman” gave the trainer 24 hours to get the money.
Reports are that the trainer had to walk with security for a few days.
TnT Mirror could not confirm whether the trainer has since paid the money but he appears to be walking around the paddock without fear.
