Flashback: House Speaker Wade Mark and adviser to PM Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Sasha Mohammed, celebrate at a popular Port of Spain club after her appointment

THIS year has also seen the rise and sudden fall of the erstwhile star TV6 senior producer Sasha Mohammed from Engagements Adviser to the Prime Minister to the invisible woman.

Mohammed was called in by police and questioned about threatening and abusive e-mails, which were traced to her computer, ending up in the inbox of Express editor-in-chief Omatie Lyder and reporter Anna Ramdass. She subsequently resigned her OPM job, it is alleged, to pursue legal challenges against the newspaper.

Mohammed’s demise was yet another piece of the ongoing collateral damage occasioned by the Reshmi Ramnarine affair and the decidedly nasty e-mails sent to her former CCN colleagues followed what was said to be the Express’ exposes of Ramnarine’s role at the Strategic Intelligence Agency (SIA).

While there have been several reports of Mohammed sightings, none of them occurred anywhere close to a newsroom and she is yet to resurface in the media.

Media Watch knows, however, that it is only a matter of time that Mohammed, who is still known to have friends in powerful places, will resurface to teach her critics a lesson.
